Stuart Hawkins' 90th-minute header briefly gave the home crowd hope, but it wasn't enough to erase a difficult night, Seattle's eighth consecutive league loss, and fourth straight defeat at home.

Austin controlled the early rhythm of the match, holding 64% of possession through a first half in which Seattle struggled to find any consistent foothold. The introduction of Snyder Brunell at halftime changed the complexion of the match. Even in a frustrating night, Paul Rothrock had a hand in the only bright spot for Seattle, setting up Stuart Hawkins' 90th-minute headed goal that briefly threatened a stunning late equalizer. It was too little, too late, but it showed the kind of quality that kept Seattle within reach even after falling behind.
For Austin, Facundo Torres and Guilherme Biro were the difference-makers, each converting a clean look created by Seattle's defensive lapses in exactly the moments that mattered most.
Turning Point: The Rothrock Turnover
With the match still very much alive at 1-0 and Seattle pushing for an equalizer, Rothrock's attempted dribble while clearing the ball turned into the turnover that effectively ended any hope of a positive result. Austin pounced immediately, and Biro's finish moments later turned a one-goal deficit into a two-goal hole that even Hawkins' late header couldn't fully climb out of.
What It Means: A Streak That Demands Answers
Head coach Brian Schmetzer didn't sugarcoat the moment afterward: "Nothing. You're searching for a lot of positives, but the reality is it's another loss.
