Stars on Ice Canada delivered an entertaining and emotional performance that combined world class figure skating with exciting music, storytelling, and crowd interaction. The show featured incredible skills from some of Canada’s top skaters while also creating a fun atmosphere for fans of all ages. From the lighting and choreography to the individual performances, the event felt both professional and personal, making it a memorable experience overall.
The show began with a group performance during the first act that immediately brought energy and excitement to the arena. Seeing all of the skaters perform together created a strong opening that captured the audience’s attention right away, while the music, choreography, and crowd reactions helped set the tone for the rest of the event.
The performance was then followed by Roman Sadovsky, a Canadian Olympian and former national champion known for his smooth skating style and artistic performances. His strong stage presence, combined with several impressive backflips and energetic choreography, quickly excited the crowd and helped continue the momentum of the opening act!
Lia Pereira and Trennt Michaud were up next, continuing the energy of the show with a strong and confident performance. The pair recently won the bronze medal at the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships in Prague, further proving themselves as one of Canada’s rising pair teams. Their routine featured impressive lifts, strong chemistry, and smooth synchronization that earned loud applause from the audience. Personally, I’m excited to see how far they can go in their careers and what they accomplish in the future!
Madeline Schizas was next to take the ice, delivering an emotional and captivating performance that immediately connected with the audience. Skating to “Cosmic Love” by Florence + the Machine, Maddie combined elegance, power, and expression throughout her routine, creating one of the most memorable moments of the night. As a four-time Canadian champion and Olympian, she continues to prove why she is one of Canada’s top skaters, and there are still no signs of her slowing down anytime soon.
Following that, Kaetlyn Osmond and Elvis Stojko took a moment to recognize the incredible accomplishments of Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier. A tribute video highlighted many of the pair’s most iconic performances and celebrated their partnership that has lasted more than 15 years. After the tribute, Piper and Paul performed a shortened version of their Olympic free dance “Vincent,” which still carried the same emotion and connection that made the program so popular with fans. Watching the performance live was a memorable experienceand easily one of the emotional highlights of the evening.
Keegan Messing, who has become a fan favourite because of the energy and personality he brings to every performance, delivered an exciting first individual skate of the night. Performing to “I’m Still Standing” by Taron Egerton from Rocketman. Keegan brought incredible speed, confidence, and crowd interaction to the ice.
Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps followed with a fun and high-energy routine that immediately captured the audience’s attention. Deanna made history at the 2026 Winter Olympics by becoming the oldest woman to compete in Olympic figure skating in nearly 100 years, proving that determination and passion can continue to push boundaries in the sport.
Kaetlyn Osmond then stepped onto the ice with a powerful and emotional performance that immediately captured the audience’s attention. As one of the most accomplished Canadian figure skaters of her generation, Kaetlyn brought confidence, strength, and elegance to the ice throughout her routine. A three-time Canadian champion, 2018 World Champion, and Olympic bronze medalist, she continues to leave a lasting impact on Canadian figure skating with both her achievements and presence on the ice.
Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier later returned to the ice with a fun and energetic performance inspired by their 2025–2026 rhythm dance. Their confidence, sharp choreography, and strong chemistry made the routine incredibly entertaining from start to finish. Watching the pair skate to music by RuPaul brought a unique energy to the arena, and the crowd clearly enjoyed every moment of the performance.
After them, Elvis Stojko took to the ice with a performance that immediately energized the crowd. As one of the most accomplished skaters in Canadian history, Elvis brought experience, power, and confidence to the show throughout his routine. A three-time World Champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist, and seven-time Canadian champion, he continues to be a major part of Stars on Ice Canada and remains a fan favourite among audiences of all ages
The first half of Stars on Ice Canada concluded with a fun and energetic group number that brought all of the skaters back onto the ice together. The performance created a lively atmosphere in the arena and gave both the men and women a chance to showcase their personalities and performance styles. The choreography and crowd interaction made it an entertaining way to close out the first half of the show.
After intermission, the men returned to the ice for a fun and energetic group number that immediately brought the crowd back into the show. The performance allowed the skaters to show more personality and clearly looked like a routine they genuinely enjoyed performing together. The audience especially reacted when Paul Poirier landed an Axel during the number.
Special guests Marie-Jade Lauriault and Romain Le Gac were the next pair to perform, bringing plenty of energy and excitement onto the ice. As guests for all three British Columbia stops of the Stars on Ice Canada, the duo added a fresh dynamic to the show with their fast-paced and entertaining routine.
Back on the ice, Madeline Schizas delivered another entertaining performance, this time skating to “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” by RAYE. The routine brought a fun and playful energy to the arena and kept the audience engaged from beginning to end. The biggest reaction came during the final moments when Trennt Michaud appeared with a giant inflatable ring before carrying Maddie off the ice, creating a hilarious and memorable ending to the performance.
Next, Lia Pereira, Piper Gilles, and Madeline Schizas took to the ice together for an energetic all-girl group number. Performing to “Golden” by Huntrix from KPop Demon Hunters, the routine was designed to mirror the performance from the movie, complete with matching gold-and-white outfits and recognizable choreography.
After that, Keegan Messing returned to the ice with another high-energy performance that immediately got the crowd cheering. Known for his entertaining style and ability to connect with the audience, Keegan once again brought excitement to the arena with his speed, personality, and multiple backflips throughout the routine.
Elvis Stojko later returned for his second performance of the night, skating to “The Sound of Silence” by Disturbed. The intensity and emotion of the song matched perfectly with Elvis’ strong and powerful skating style, creating one of the more dramatic performances of the evening. At 54 years old, it was incredible to see him still perform with so much passion, energy, and skill, proving why he remains such an important figure in Canadian skating history.
For the final performance by the duo of the night, Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier returned to the ice once again with a routine that perfectly matched their unique style and personality. The performance blended elegance with dramatic and theatrical elements, creating a program that immediately stood out from the rest of the evening. Their detailed and extravagant costumes added to the royal and sophisticated feel of the routine, making the performance even more visually memorable.
To close out the show, all of the skaters returned to the ice together for one final group performance, wearing matching black costumes with colourful pixelated patterns. The routine brought plenty of energy to the arena and served as a fun and memorable way to end the evening. Watching many of Canada’s top skaters perform together throughout the night highlighted what makes Stars on Ice Canada such a special experience for figure skating fans across the country.
